- The serum is applied after using the derma roller: First, roll the derma roller gently over a clean scalp for 5 minutes. You should move it first horizontally, then vertically, and then diagonally. You should apply enough pressure to penetrate the scalp and feel a slight prickling or tingling, but not enough to cause pain.
